What You Need to Know About the Shelton Stampede Auction
What is the
Stampede Auction?
The Shelton Stampede Auction is an
enchanting, fun-filled evening, complete with a gourmet dinner, live
auction, silent auction, big board and this year, a raffle drawing for a
$10,000 American Express prepaid, debit card.
What is the
purpose of the Stampede Auction?
The Stampede Auction is a yearly
community event that brings the families and friends of Shelton School
together for a great evening of fun.
It is the most important event of the school year. The Auction is one of the best ways for
existing and new families to integrate and get to know one another. It has been a long standing tradition of
our school and one that everyone should take pride in attending.
Where does the
money go that is raised by the Stampede Auction?
All
proceeds from the Stampede Auction will be used to support financial aid
and technology improvements. The
funds directly support Shelton’s ability to provide positive and practical
solutions to the problems of learning different students.
Does the school hire a staff to run the Auction?
The Shelton
School Stampede Auction Committee is composed entirely of volunteers,
including parents, friends, faculty, students, alumnae, grandparents, and
board members.
Where do the
Auction items come from?
Generous
businesses, parents, friends, faculty, alumnae, board members, and benefactors
of The Shelton School donate all of the items for the Auction.
Aren’t all
the items at the Auction very expensive?
No, there
are items for everyone’s budget. The
Auction has items starting as low as $5 (Silent Auction) and go up to
several thousands of dollars (Live Auction).
Even if I
can’t spend a lot of money should I still attend?
Absolutely,
everyone in the Shelton School community should attend. It is a fun evening with friends whether
you spend a lot or money or not.
This is one of the best opportunities to build our Shelton community
and show your support for the school.
